Just one year after becoming the youngest player ever to win an LPGA Tour event, New Zealand’s Lydia Ko once again made history at the CN Canadian Women’s Open on Sunday. Up against the likes of I.K. Kim and Paula Creamer:

The 16-year-old amateur from New Zealand became the first amateur to win two LPGA events and the first amateur to successfully defend her title after shooting a final-round 64 to finish at 15-under-par and capture a five-shot victory.

The Highlight was the CN Miracle Match, a national charitable initiative that CN launched in 2006, which rallies communities across Canada behind a very worthy cause – supporting children’s hospitals. Funds raised through this year’s initiative in communities in the Capital Region and throughout Alberta will be given to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.Edmonton showed yet again that they can host a major sporting event with the best of them. The LPGA cannot wait to return to the majestic grounds of the Royal Mayfair Golf Club.

And although JPHiP Favorite Michelle Wie didn’t make the cut, she had a great time in Edmonton, tweeting her food experiences!
